One post before spring break... a field trip with German class!

On Friday the 15th I went on a field trip with my German class to the 14th district to visit the Kirche am Steinhof.  The church was designed by the Secession architect Otto Wagner.  It was the church of a mental hospital.  While I’m not a huge fan of Wagner, I did really like seeing the church.  The Kirche am Steinhof is almost always closed, and opens for about an hour every week, so we were very lucky to go inside! After visiting the church, we went to Frau Summesberger’s favorite micro-brewery, Medl Brau, for some beer-tasting and lunch (at 11 AM).

The Kirche am Steinhof is one of the only churches designed in an Art Nouveau style.

Kent hovering over the smallest beers in the world!

Such lil babies

The manager of the micro-brewery gave us a tour of the beer-making room

This holds beer.

Later that night a couple of us had a slumber party and watched my favorite movie, The Sound of Music!!
