I really have no idea when Michele will send me her photos so I figured I’d tell you all about their visit and post good photos when I can. On February 17, my mom and Michele arrived in Vienna! I met up with them right after my German class at the Sacher Hotel, one of Vienna’s most famous hotels (because of its incredible chocolate cake - Sachertorte). I had an awesome time showing them around my new city, and I think I can safely say they had a great time pretending not to be jetlagged. We went to and saw lots of awesome things, including:
The Spanish Riding School - a part of the Hofburg Palace. This school for horses is a place where they were trained for performances that were put on for the Emperor, and is still a big tourist attraction in Vienna.
Stephansdom - I know I’ve talked about this before, but just in case you forgot... Stephansdom is the Cathedral located in literally the center of Vienna. Lots of awesome events in history happened here, including Mozart’s wedding and funeral, and has been around since the 14th century. Both my mom and Michele thought the church was beautiful!
Cafe Palmenhaus & Cafe Demel - I know I know... I keep returning to these two cafes. But they are UNREAL and SO DELICIOUS!
That’s all I can really think of now, but we had a great time. I can’t wait for my dad and Tommy to see Vienna in May!
I don’t have any photos from their visit, so I will post them once Michele sends them to me!
