Schneekugel Museum im achtzehnten Bezirk

The Wednesday after Easter I went on a field trip with my Education Internship class to the Vienna Snowglobe Factory! The snowglobe was first invented in Vienna, and the company has been around since the early 20th century (1905 I think).  It is run by the great-grandson of the inventor of the snow globe, Erwin Perzy III.  He gave us a tour of the (tiny!) factory and then we had time to look around and buy some snowglobes.  I definitely did not leave empty handed.

These were the cutest lil baby snowglobes

This is a replica of a snowglobe made for President Obama when he was inaugurated.

That’s the original snowglobe in the center
This snowglobe was given to Bill Clinton... the “snow” is made from confetti collected from the party when he won the presidential election
